Our school was recently gifted a beautiful statue of Our Lady. So we held a special month of May prayer service to honour this occasion. The children told the story of the Presentation and sang A Mhuire Mháthair and Queen of the May. Then Fr. Flanagan blessed the statue and outlined the history of the statue. It originally stood in Beech Hill Nursing Home where many local Monaghan people were born. The statue then went to Fermanagh and has now returned to Monaghan! Some of the children formed a little May procession from the hall to the front school hallway where they  led prayers and the statue was placed in its new home. Thanks to Kathleen Lavery for making this happen.
A Mhuire na nGael, guí orainn.
