Our school was really delighted to be cordially invited and to receive one of the special awards at this year’s Concern Debate Final which took place in the Helix in Dublin City University on the 12th of June. Our award was for our team’s ‘incredible
enthusiasm and dedication and for being brilliant ambassadors of the debates’. The motion was ‘Schools are the key to ending world hunger.’ The children thoroughly enjoyed their special day out, the journey, the workshop and the extremely engaging
debate. It was a huge achievement to reach the All Island qualifying stage and being present at the final was a huge plus without the pressure! The Concern Team were very appreciative of our team’s handwritten card and said that ‘it was such a privilege to get to know the whole Deravoy School Community.’ Comhghairdeachas to the whole sixth class team! Maith sibh.
