Our debating team competed in the second round of the Concern Debating competition organised by Monaghan Education Centre. Rang a cúig agus rang a sé worked hard with their research and arguments. This debate focussed on plastic pollution in our oceans and the devastating impact it can have, not only on sea life, but also on coastal communities. It highlighted the responsibility on all of us to manage our use of plastic and encouraged us to recycle our plastic so that it won’t enter our rivers and oceans. Our team was proposing the motion ‘Getting rid of the plastic in our oceans is just a dream’ and the motion was carried. The adjudicator commended the confidence and competence of both teams.
