National Tree Day was on Thursday 5th October and we celebrated with some fun, interactive learning in the hall. There were lots of leaves, twigs, fruits and seeds from our native Irish trees that the children had to try to identify using their tree dials. The enjoyed being ‘dendrologists’ so much that they held their own workshop for Junior and Senior Infants by buddying up and helping them to match and find the leaves of our native trees. From tiny acorns grow mighty oaks!
