The children from fifth and sixth classes were very privileged to have Maria and Gareth from the Truagh and Donagh Defibrillator Group  coming to our school to teach them all about resuscitation using the defibrillator. Gareth and Maria were excellent at communicating to the children how important it is to have this training in a time of emergency. The children individually practised doing CPR on a mannequin and were made familiar with the local places where the defibrillators AEDs can be accessed. Our nearest Automated External Defibrillator can be found at the entrance to the hall. The importance of knowing  eircodes was stressed and it was recommended that the code would be at an accessible place in case of an emergency. The team were very impressed with the great questions the children asked.
We are indebted to these volunteers Maria and Gareth who gave of their time to provide this essential training to the children. Buíochas ó chroí leo.
