What an afternoon our school had to celebrate all the hard work the children have been doing in science, technology, engineering, Maths and art also. STEAM! Parents and grandparents and the school community were invited in to see and hear all about their work. The projects and experiments included Lego We Dó, water density, floating eggs, capillary actions, preservatives, static electricity, dancing tissue men, community Maths data, the digestive system, boiled eggs in bottles, ice salt, pepper and fairy liquid effects, bouncy eggs, turmeric and lemon combinations, dancing on eggs, walking water, skittles and food colouring, Beebots, friction and marble runs, magnets, Life cycle of the frog, light and shadows, animal families, Vex robotics and Artemis 2.
STEM plays a major role in the children’s learning at Deravoy and we are delighted that the children were able to explain all their research so confidently. It was also an opportunity to work and problem solve in their respective teams. We had a huge turn out at our fair. Go raibh míle maith agaibh as teacht go dtí ár Aonach Eolaíochta!
